Ar’Dell: Prologue

A poem about a character and events from my live role-playing days, it’s the first of three in a series.

A dark elf black of heart, like his brethren kin
But contrary to them, Ar’Dell he does know sin
Two things in his life, the Lord and then himself
Early he made sure, he would not end in hell
Serving greater powers, to protect his being
Serving magic itself, Elstranuz the all-seeing

Another poem about the second of my major role-playing characters, the bladesinger Zardilann Darhtill.

A father’s love I’ve never felt, only endless spite
Never finding solace, forevermore we’ll fight
A son was never wanted, just a baby shell
A place to grow and live, a place for a monster of Hell
But when my hunger rises, one thing’s all I fear
That I am not all alone, and those I love are near

Battle commencing, again into the fray
To live or to die, to fight and to slay
As my comrades fall, I then start to fear
The end of my life, is here and very near
The moon wakes anew, it lights up the sky
Tomorrow we fight again, never to truly die
